Campsie High Kirk

I have been working with the charity Friends of Campsie High Kirk who are taking on a ruined category A listed church building in Lennoxtown designed in 1828 by the architect David Hamilton.

This building was largely destroyed by fire in 1984, where the top third of the tower was lost and today only the shell remains.

The aim is to restore the building into a cultural and events space, creating a key attraction in East Dunbartonshire.

My role has been to provide visuals, interpreting the charities aims and I provided the concept of restoring the lost tower as a line drawing in light. This has been coined "The Ghost Tower".

This is a video I made to communicate the latest designs from the feasibility study by architects Ewan Lawson and Jenny Phillips at Simpson and Brown, for the charity Friends of Campsie High Kirk.

Here is STV news coverage of the project from 2025

This video I made shows the initial concept for Friends of Campsie High Kirk early on to communicate the vision and aims of the new community group for the future of the building.

This is a reconstruction I made of Campsie High Kirk from before the 1984 fire.
